How long does a treatment take?
Appointments are available in 30, 45 & 60 minute slots. If it is your first treatment I will need to complete a full consultation with you to find out about your medical history etc. Once this is completed the session will last up to the time booked. However, for the first appointment a full hour will be needed due to the consultation.
What happens during treatment?
As all clients are treated individually what happens during treatment can vary from each person. Firstly, your posture and range of movement will be tested to find any problem areas. If you come with a specific injury a number of specific tests will be conducted to pin point where the problem is and what techniques will be effective in helping to relieve the problem. Once areas are identified, massage treatment will begin. When treatment is complete, Advice, with the aid of a program, will be given to you which will include stretches and exercises to help stop the problem recurring.
Will it be painful?
Massage should not be painful, however Sports Massage can sometimes be deep which can cause some discomfort. This is likely when any adhesions or areas of tenderness are found in the muscle. It is necessary in these instances to apply adequate pressure to the area in order to reduce these adhesions to aid recovery. Soreness can also be experienced 24 hours after treatment. this is normal and will usually subside between 24 & 48 hours.
How much does it cost?
Some prices vary, depending on the service, but for a full hour massage treatment the cost is £40. Cash or cheque are the only accepted method of payment.
Will I have to disrobe?
Depending on the treatment required, you will be required to disrobe, either full or partial. For example, a full body massage would require all outer clothing to be removed but for a back massage only the top half of clothing would need to be removed. Clients dignity is very important to me and you will be covered at all times with towels, except for the area being treated.
